John, I believe you are onto something here. But it is not just the Stones or Bad Bunny who pushed a lot of boundaries (one might euphemistically say). Think about the Kinks (Lola, 1970), Elton John (Whipping Boy, 1983), David Bowie (Sweet Head, 1990), the Go-Go’s (Fun with Ropes, 1994) and on and on. Pop music has long been raunchy. Just check out the original meaning of rock ‘n’roll.

Joseph… You’re right.. good observation.. here’s a clip of “My man rocks me (with one steady roll) from the “Mother of Rock and Roll” Trixie Smith, using a form of the term RnR in the early 1920’s..seems like the DJ Alan Freed, who was born about the time Trixie’s man was giving her the inspiration for this song, was the person most responsible for labeling this genre and spreading the word in the 1950’s.. I’m guessing people were as offended by these lyrics in the ‘20’s as I was to Bad Bunny’s lyrics.

“My man rocks me with one steady roll

There's no slippin' when he once takes hold

I looked at the clock and the clock struck ONE

I said "Now daddy, ain't we got fun"

Oh, he was rockin' me with one steady roll

My man rocks me with onе steady roll

There's no slippin' whеn he once takes hold

I looked at the clock and the clock struck SIX

I said "Daddy, you know lots of tricks"

Oh, he was rockin' me with one steady roll

My man rocks me with one steady roll

There's no slippin' when he once takes hold

I looked at the clock and the clock struck TEN

I said "Glory, amen"

My man was rockin' me with one steady roll”
