"Really, are all these voters blind? Do they not read? Have newspapers been so decimated that former readers don’t have access to the news anymore? Of course, in this age of the Net, such voters must be aware – at least marginally – of the news about their golden boy. The Net makes the news more widely available than ever." Sadly, Joe, no — these voters do not read (and don't blame newspapers; they never did read). Many, like Trump, barely can (and detest the elites who LIKE reading). Many get their "news" from Fox, Newsmax, and worse. On the internet and social media, algorithms push them stories and op-eds that align with their views, so they never hear about Trump's scams, thefts, and bankruptcies. As for the rapes and other sex-related crimes, they just couldn't care less.

Joan, thx for your comment. But I think it is more than ignorance and attention only to pro-Trump media. Trump’s brilliance is in tapping into the rage of the aggrieved, in knowing what drives them, in sharing their victimhood. The troubling thing is that there are so many of them, so many who feel screwed by the system that they believe targets Trump as well. It is frankly bizarre and something that I believe psychologists steeped in sociology would likely explain better. There is just too much passion and thus a Jan. 6 could happen and something like it could happen again, I fear.
